We had a small , intimate wedding at home and Alison was our celebrant. She was lovely to work with, from planning our ceremony and helping us to put together the program, to looking after us on our big day. Alison was kind, calm, reassuring and made sure everything ran smoothly. Highly recommended!
Alison was great to work with and made the process of completing the paperwork easy and it made the day run very smoothly. She was able to assist with the run sheet and provided many suggestions that lowered the stress levels for all involved. Thoroughly recommend.
Alison brought a huge amount of love, fun and friendship on Bernard’s and my special wedding. It was a relatively small family only event in our garden. Alison was involved in the planning from the outset and even help write the vows . Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Alison for your special day.
Alison could not be a more professional, kind, caring, knowledgeable and articulate celebrant. You will immediately feel warmth and trust upon meeting Alison and any important occasion will not only be in safe hands but elevated by this beautiful woman who could not put more into what she does.
How soon can we get married?
A Notice of Intended Marriage form must be signed by at least one party to the wedding one month prior and up to eighteen months prior. The other party must sign and supply ID before the wedding can take place.
Do we need to use the celebrant who signed the form?
No, the form can be transferred to the officiant of your choice.
Do I have to change my name?
No, there is no requirement to change your name. In fact, either party can change their name to the other if they wish.
Do brides need to be given away?
No, these days many brides choose to either walk by themselves, with their partner or both parents or anyone else they choose.
Does there need to be a bridal party?
No, as long as there is a celebrant and two witnesses over the age of 18 years, that is the minimum requirement.
Do we need an official certificate from Births, Deaths and Marriages?
Often the celebrant will offer to purchase the certificate on the couple's behalf when they register the marriage. Couples can get one themselves on presentation of identification and many choose to wait until they need one. An official certificate must be obtained if a name change is required.
